I was planning on posting a new entry today, talking about the movies we watched over the weekend, my writing progress and so forth, but that'll have to wait for another day or two! I've got something else to gab about...

We finally got our broadband 'net connection hooked-up today and I've been busily setting things up, downloading stuff, and updating my email address in 1001 places. Aside from all the housekeeping guff, it's very nice to be surfing the net at 3Mbps! It makes me wish we'd got it sooner.

As part of our sign-up, we got 2 free months on the Rhapsody music service, which looks very nice indeed. It has a huge selection of music, streaming music stations, and burning tracks to CD for 79 cents apiece. Anyone know how this compares with the massively popular iTunes?

Now that we've got broadband, I decided to take the plunge and installed SETI@Home. This thing's been around for years and from what I gather, there are stacks of similar apps out there including a protein-folding app (I imagine that has something to do with DNA research?). I was wondering when I'd find a use for all these spare CPU cycles...
