Labor Day weekend

I had yet another busy week, with longer hours at work during the week, and a lot of running around over the weekend. We did some shopping, picked up some moving supplies, and spent most of Sunday packing. The apartment is full of boxes, but it still doesn't look like we've packed much. Less than a week now until closing day! Argghh!

Monday was a lazy day, but I did spent some time thinking about a new story idea. The idea is still fairly nebulous right now, though. If this one doesn't pan out I may end up just jotting the details down and try coming up with another idea (or develop something out of the notebook or the ideas file).

Over the weekend I discovered that I could download the official recording of the Metallica concert for a small fee, which I did. The download was pretty zippy, especially now that our ISP has upped the download speed to 4Mbps! The sound quality was quite good too, although obviously not studio quality. I'm sure the neighbours loved the two hours or so of thumping bass and tasty riffs--I certainly did :)

Last week I finished reading the 6th book in Stephen King's Dark Tower series, Song of Susannah. This is more of a transition story, but there's still plenty of action and interesting plot developments, especially near the end! If I said anymore I'd spoil the surprise :) I'm looking forward to the final book, due out this month. Dig in, if you haven't already...
