Things are going well with the editing now. After blending procrastination and household chores for much of the past week, I finally put bum in chair and proceeded to edit the story.

Sacrifices had to be made: the Star Wars DVDs must wait, alas, along with some much anticipated reading; and disasters were narrowly averted: a supposed "long-life" bulb in the lamp by the couch where I'm working started smoking (we only bought the bulb a month ago), so I jumped up quick-smart and turned it off, replacing with a regular bulb.

If I can keep up the current pace, I should be done by Monday. Assuming, of course, that resistentialist roadblocks don't crop up, as they so often do.

Why is it that the hardest thing seems to be just getting started? Is it inertia, or just plain laziness?
