Carrie's parents were over, and it was nice to see them again. We cooked up a turkey and had that along with mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberries, steamed broccoli, and rolls. For dessert we had pumpkin pie and casada, both of which lasted for a few more days! We're still working our way through the turkey leftovers.... Much fun was had working on odd jobs around the house and dealing with that frustrating hardware store (which shall remain nameless) again. Carrie's parents helped out quite a lot, and enjoyed playing with the kitten, who they hadn't seen before. We watched a Ghost Hunters marathon on Sci-Fi channel while waiting for them to arrive on the Wednesday night, and on Saturday we all sat down and watched Star Wars on DVD (I was the only one to stay awake for the whole movie; it was a long day!). Last night more snow dumped on the area, and I got to try my hand at shovelling it aside and sprinkling Freeze Gard on the deck and the driveway last night and this morning. The sun was out today, but not enough to melt the 3 or 4 inches of snow. I hope this means winter will end early next year, but that's probably wishful thinking. Meanwhile I'm trying to find time for reading and writing stories again after a long break. It would probably help if I didn't keep searching for old SF mags on ebay, and if I still didn't have mountains of photos to label online. Ah, the joys of procrastination ;) Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
