I thought I'd take one last look back at 2004 before diving into things for 2005. Here are the final set of stats for 2004:

2004 Stats:

2004 Word count: 22,016
Stories written: 8
Total submissions: 28
Total acceptances: 0
Total rejections: 29
Waiting for response: 1
Books read: 12
Fiction Mags/Chapbooks read: 20

I was a bit disappointed with the amount I wrote in 2004, since I passed 64,000 words in 2003 and was hoping to write at least that in 2004. On the plus side, I did write more stories (albeit shorter ones) and doubled the number of story submissions over 2003. I also reckon my writing improved a great deal, thanks in no small part to joining a new online critique group earlier this year. Watch out 2005 ;)

On the reading front, I read a lot less than last year. That's quite understandable since 2004 was a busy year with lots of distractions. Since getting an iPod, I've also listened to a fair number of audiobooks, which certainly makes the short drive to and from work more enjoyable.

Here's what I read/listened to in 2004 (not counting the dozens of stories I've read online):
