2006-08-01 10:29 PM Ethanol redux Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Contemplative Read/Post Comments (0) Following on from my previous post about Vinod Khosla's ethanol presentation, I found some further discussion on the subject via Slashdot. Robert Rapier, a chemical engineer critical of Khosla's claims, debunks them at The Oil Drum. Khosla responds in Rapier's follow-up post here. There are a lot of good points, especially about the viability of corn ethanol and the optimistic ramp-up of cellulosic ethanol, among others. Khosla's arguments aren't nearly as convincing in light of Rapier's analysis, but it's good to see he's still willing to discuss the points of contention and clarify his thoughts.
