Way back in 2004 I registered some personal domain names. At the time I had some vague idea about using them for a writing-based site, either for a copywriting business I had in mind, or to talk about my fiction writing efforts. Neither panned out at the time, so I ended up just directing them to my journal. That seemed to work fine until now.

After I made my first couple of fiction sales, I decided it was time to dust off the old domain names and put them to use. I learned a little about CSS and XHTML from W3Schools and Sitepoint, and checked out the sites of other writers to figure out what design looked good. I spent most of last week tinkering with the coding and laying it out so it looked right, which was actually a little more complicated than I'd thought.

My goal was a clean, simple layout, and it seems to have turned out okay, I reckon. I was planning on something fancier, but it would've taken far longer to get a functional site running. Now at least I've got something I can tinker with :)
