Well. Since I haven't seen a definition (yet) here is mine:

Information Modeling is the creation of text and visual models describing the information content of a web site. Information Architecture describes the act of discovering content relationships, navigation, and searching, so Information Modeling is the formal capture of these relationships into manageable models.

How's that for starters?
