I shook it up and he was mesmerized. He grinned and touched it so innocently. Then I turned the music on. He looked at me and then back at it. Turning the globe over and back, he watched the spindle turning, touching it as it went round and round, and then feeling the smooth round glass of the globe. We sat on the floor together, Allex sitting in my lap, playing with the globe for about 15 minutes. I couldn't have planned it. It just happened. And it was such a memorable moment.
The next thing I thought was just too precious to be left un-said was watching him discover bubbles. I was giving him a bath when he focused on the bubbles in the water. He tried picking one up and it disappeared. He tried again and the same thing happened. He sat there for a few minutes concentrating intently on the 'phenomena'. Now he does it whenever I give him a bath. It’s little moments like these are pure joy. I never would have guessed how enjoyable it is seeing him experience little wonders.
