Age 4: Preschool at St. Lukes Elementary in Merced with Miss Amy. Great school. Got Allex ready for Kindergarten very well. He knew how to write his alphabet and numbers by the end of the year. He was taught several important school manners, like sit on the rug in "criss cross apple sauce" and "you get what you get and you don't throw a fit." Very timely little lessons. I packed him his lunch in a cute little Pottery Barn lunch bag with his name on it. Age 5: Kindergarten at Catheys Valley Elementary with Mrs. Forsythe. After school, he'd go over to Kelly Salonens for daycare. The year went well, except that by the end of the day, Allex would be very tired. Long day for a kindergartner. I see why they used to shorten it to noon. His teacher had an excellent reading program, which he loved! He was reading very well by the end of the year. And, writing amazing journals everyday. The teacher was very strict and he didn't get to play much. But, he survived and didn't have any complaints. Age 6: First grade with Mrs. Little at Mariposa Elementary School in Mariposa. Excellent year here! He loved Mrs. Little and made wonderful friends, including his best friend, Cole Young. He really excelled and learned lots of good lessons about getting along with people and appears to be liked by everyone in his class. I'm very happy about that. Especially, since, that was one of the reasons I moved him here. He wasn't getting the socialization like that in CV. So, now he is both smart and well liked. Check. Age 7: He has just begun 2nd grade with Mrs. Shaddix at Mariposa Elementary School. Most of the kids in his class are the same as last year. So, he is starting off very comfortable! Here's hoping the year goes well! I think it will! Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
