A well-appreciated sentiment

Who would have thought that two

such different people

would meet,

fall in love,

and be happy together...

But that's just

what we did.

~ ~ ~

I love you

for exactly who you are.

I respect and appreciate

the ways we're different

and am glad we have

the one big thing in common

that makes us the same -

our commitment

to each other.

And that's everything to me.

~ ~ ~

My life is fuller, happier,

and more complete

because you're in it.

I'm so thankful

we found each other to love.

Happy Valentine's Day

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

That was the (Hallmark) card I received today from my dear husband, and I think it's the nicest card I've ever gotten from him in all the 24 years we've been married.

He told me that it's a lot better buying a card late in the day of the actual "holiday" because there are hardly any cards left on the shelf, so it was very easy for him to pick one out - not having to read thru hundreds like I always do when I buy a card.

I don't know why this particular card was left behind and all the others snapped up before he got there, because the sentiment behind the words above was so perfect - it was not sickeningly sweet and mushy, but it described us perfectly. We are total opposites. But I couldn't love anyone more if I tried.

It was a good Valentine's Day here.

And tomorrow is a day off! Makes it even better.

Cheers and Love,

Bex
