2013-02-09 11:51 AM Daily Photo Shoot - Day 9 The Photo Shoot subject for Saturday, 09 February 2013 is: Notice anything weird about this photo? You can't SEE anything outside! That's because the outside surface of the windows is pure ice. Prior photo showing normal view out these windows: OK. Here I am at noon on the Saturday version of the BLIZZARD OF 2013. We are extremely grateful to the Power Gods because we never lost power once through the whole blizzard. So many other people lost power and I'm hoping the electric companies can get them back on-line very soon. It's no fun being powerless! The story here is that we are safe and warm and snug as bugs in a rug here. I was up/awake all night long so when 7:00 rolled around this morning, I got up to pee and went back to bed and fell into a deep sleep for 3 hours, arising again at around 11:00 a.m. That is the longesgt I've stayed in bed since I was a teenager! And then it only happened once or twice. So onward and upward. The dogs have been out several times to do their business as well as to play-play-play! They love to eat the snow, and when a vehicle has the nerve to drive by, they do their best to bark-bark-bark at it, but it's difficult to run along the fence because the snow is up to their shoulders! Paul figures we got about 16-18 inches. Where it's drifted, like on the back deck, it seems like more than 2 feet, but the wind was so wild that the snow just blew into drifts so is hard to measure. There has been a ban on driving on the roads for this state as well as several others in New England. Since we don't want to thrown into the klink, we are staying put. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Here is a video of the winter of 1963 in Britain that was published today on a blog I read daily called DoveGreyReader. Now those were the days. This is a very interesting little video. There you have it. Our take on the Blizzard of 2013. Now we dig out... Cheers, Bex & Co. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
