Saturday Morning...

So....

Treetops

We survived our 27th wedding anniversary. Paul was a busy bee from morning til night. He went out lobstering. He came home and immediately got out the lawnmower and mowed the front half of the front yard (it's separated by a fence).

Coming to attention - what's coming up the street?

Em and tulips

Then he came in, showered, and waited for me to get supper ready which I did (pork pies from the English Pork Pie Co. - which are so good still, by the way). After supper he took the list of food we need and he went up to the store to do the weekly food shopping. Upon his return, since I had just done a job that totally wiped me out (mop-washed the kitchen floor), I was in no shape to help him so he put away most of the foodstuffs etc. by himself. Then we put on the baseball game and watched the Red Sox beat the Toronto Blue Jays.

Well, we watched them part way through. A ballgame is a long thing to sit through, and by around 8:30 I am craving my bed, so we went up around 8:30, said our goodnights, had an anniversary "smooch," and went to our beds. I listened to the rest of the ballgame on the radio and oh, my, it was a good one! Our pitcher, Jon Lester, had a "complete game" which means he went the whole 9 innings, and he only allowed one (1) Toronto player on base for the entire game. One! It was 5-0 in the end with the Red Sox the victors. It's about time, too, because we've been in a slump lately.

I asked Paul if he is ready for the next 27 years of married life, and he wilted a bit... heh!

I found Paul sitting at the breakfast table this morning when I finally got up, doing his Sudoku puzzle. He is obsessed with doing these puzzles mainly, I think, to keep his mind exercised since Alzheimer's runs in his family, and he is trying to be a little proactive in staving it off, if he can. He must have done thousands of those puzzles in the last 5 or 6 years or so. I can't get the hang of them myself. I don't enjoy working with numbers. I'd rather attempt a crossword puzzle, but even those I usually leave only partially completed. Oh well..

I'm watching some tennis right now, a match between Rafa Nadal and a Mr. Andujar (?) - of course Rafa is winning so that makes me happy. I think this might be in Spain (yes, it's the Madrid Open). Tomorrow the women will play for the final match - Serena Williams v. Maria Sharapova - and you probably know for whom I will be cheering in that matchup!

Oh, I hear Paul home again... think I'll go and speak to him.

That's all for now.

Cheers,
