2013-06-22 4:41 PM I'm All in a Swoon.... The Milk Carton Kids Reprise
You may already know I love The Milk Carton Kids. I've already told Paul about this. I didn't want him to hear it from a stranger, that my heart has been stolen by these two West Coast singer/songwriters - completely and utterly. I can't get enough of them. Not a day goes by that I don't listen to their music. I have all three of their albums: RETROSPECT, PROLOGUE, and THE ASH AND CLAY. Oh, I have my favorites, and I tend to put those albums on first, but eventually I go thru all three just about every single day. It's my idea of heaven. This one, called LAREDO, has to be my very favorite song of all: (I actually like the album version better than this live version) Over and over and over again.... I play their music here. So when I heard recently that three of their songs had been chosen to be included in the movie PROMISED LAND starring Matt Damon and Frances McDormand, well, I HAD to buy it. And I did. And I watched it yesterday. It was very very good, and the McKids' songs (as I call them) were great in it, as well. There were other songs in that movie score but I only heard their three. Here they are being interviewed about having their songs selected for the movie by Gus Van Sant: and as an extra added attraction, here are two more songs of theirs: Yup. I've fallen head over heels in love with these young men. It's kind of sick, seeing as I'm on Social Security and all... they are young and vibrant... I am old and wrinkly... we don't really go together but what the heck! I'm throwing caution to the wind.... I LOVE YOU, KENNETH PATTENGALE! I LOVE YOU, JOEY RYAN! (I still love Paul but in a different way....) Cheers for the musical life, Bex
