2013-08-06 3:27 PM Big Sis / Little Sis Been a funny kind of day. Not feeling much like prose, or poetry for that matter. Pictures? I've always got a few of those for you.
I was 14 when my baby sister, Sarah, was born. For the next five years we would share a bedroom and I would be her main caregiver when my parents were away working. Then I was gone at 19, out into the big wide world, and out of her world. ![]() Fast forward several years, our family is gathered together for Thanksgiving at home with little Sarah on the right, then brother Chuck, then yours truly... a teenager still. ![]() Not sure of the exact year, but I can usually tell when a photo was taken by the outfit I am wearing in the photo! I remember this dress of mine and I loved that dress. So I think it was taken at around the age of 19 - Sarah must have been around 5: ![]() At 20 I moved down to the D.C. Area, Bill came home from Viet Nam, we got engaged, and at my first wedding Sarah, our flower girl, was 8: ![]() Years later, once I'd moved back to this area and gotten divorced, here we are again, sisters visiting our brother's home for a holiday: ![]() Another decade goes by, or so, and here we are again, at my second wedding where she was my maid of honor: ![]() Later, another family gathering for a holiday, by now you can spot us - Sarah on the left and me on the right next to Paul. ![]() Sarah and me. A trip down memory lane. Cheers, Bex-the-big-sister ![]() ![]() 2003 - Present Archives at Diaryland Read/Post Comments (6) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
