2014-01-30 3:36 PM One Of Us Cannot Be Wrong, and more Music. I am a sucker for it. All kinds of music, but my true love is acoustic folk music, pure and simple.
I just left a comment at Talking Stick's blog where I mentioned [my new favorite singer] I have two of his albums: "That Sea, the Gambler" and "This Empty Northern Hemisphere," and one is on its way here, "The Weatherman." (Click to listen as you read...) One of Us Cannot Be Wrong - lyrics I listen to this song, (the Isakov version which I like the best) "One of Us Cannot Be Wrong," every night before going to sleep. It's the last song on the album, This Empty Northern Hemisphere. It's one of the most interesting songs I've ever heard. The combination of Isakov's voice along with the voice of Brandi Carlile makes this song haunting but the words are more than curious. As I was posting this, I have only just now learned that this song is a Leonard Cohen song... well, there you go! The KING! - I should have known... Go ahead, you know you want to hear Leonard doing the original version... Gregory and Brandi do a beautiful job singing this song, and it's become my very favorite song of the moment... Here is a great page at About.com Folk Music with an article about Isakov - the author seems to have the same feelings about his music as I have - he is fabulous. I've just about worn out the two CDs I have - I am going to look for more... Cheers, Bex Oh heck - here's a bonus music video: ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Find your heart, open up both your eyes. We can all know every thing without ever knowing why. It's in every one of us, by and bye. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ 2003 - Present Archives at Diaryland Read/Post Comments (5) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
