Shout-Out Sunday No. 13 - Page by Page

There's not much earth-shattering about this humble web site but for some of us - those who have eschewed the reading tablet craze, this is a handy little site to visit when you are in need of some classic reading material. You know, those dark and rainy Sunday mornings (like the one we're having right this minute here in New England) when all you want is to turn off all the noise of the world and curl up in your favourite chair, switch on the overhead lamp, and get lost in one of your long-time favourite stories or begin a new one you've been meaning to read forever...
One of my favourite books is in here:
The Wheels of Chance by H(erbert) G(eorge) Wells.
Try it! It's not what you think of as a typical H.G. Wells story - it's before all the science fiction stuff came along; it's a lovely little story.
In this world of high technology, gadgets up the yazoo, and multitasking mammas, there is still nothing like a good book.
I have held on to the notion that a real, live, physical, in-the-moment book made out of paper and cardboard and, if you're very lucky, a little leather with gold gilding, is the very best of the world of books, but I have to admit that finding an unexpected little gem online - for free - is something that lights up an otherwise dreary rainy day for me.
Nothing fancy here.

Just think, the day after tomorrow it will be April and, although April showers bring May flowers, I have to say that April is just about my favourite month of the year.
I've found one I want to read right now, a short story - A Message From The Sea, by the master, Charles Dickens.
