A Random Shout-Out Entry - A Year to Live?

I used to love doing the weekly Shout-Out Sunday blogs, recommending some web site I'd come across during the week that I just HAD to share with you.

It's been a while now that I've stopped doing that, but there are still web sites I am finding and loving and still wanting to share them now and then. Today was one of those times.

I am hereby giving a big SHOUT-OUT to a specific entry in a really nice blog I've been following called

"A SENSE OF PLACE"
by Ronnie Hughes and Sarah Horton, of Liverpool, England.

That is the home page above.

The page I just finished reading and which has got me quite excited, is the page entitled:

A YEAR TO LIVE? 10 THINGS I'VE LEARNED.

The premise of this project was to live a whole year with the thought that you only have a year to live - what would you do with the last 365 days of your life? Ronnie went ahead and did it, and he learned quite a lot, I believe. Or maybe he already knew most of it but just needed it revealed in the light of day.

It took me about a half hour, give or take, to read this entry through. It was wonderful. What a good idea! And his text under each of the 10 things Ronnie has learned from his Year to Live are very thoughtful and wise. I especially love the idea of getting rid of all the "stuff" in our lives, at least all the stuff that we don't use or need any longer. I have so much of this around me that I feel like I'm drowning in it sometimes.

So rather than belabor the point that this is a page you will definitely enjoy (and I sincerely hope you do!), I am going to get up and go DO SOMETHING HERE IN THE PRESENT - Paul needs a new batch of cookies made, so off I go to accomplish that for him.

Paul is home today from lobstering, due to rather high winds on the ocean, and he is working outside on a very tall ladder replacing rotted window trim on the top floor at my bedroom windows. I need something to keep my mind off the fact that I fear he will fall off the ladder every minute he's up there!

And to Ronnie Hughes, the author of this wonderful web site, a big Thank You! for taking the time and thought to write this entry out as you have. It made my day!

P.S. I've just "heard" from author Ronnie Hughes via his Comments section that he has done a follow-up photographic page to the above entry so for your enjoyment (and mine!) here it is:

"And Here I'll Stay"

And, dear Readers, I hope it does the same for you!

Cheers,

Bex
