This is from a Valentine's Day Card a friend of my mother's sent her:

Dearest Beloved Friend:

I pray you are well and your children and their families as well. Even though I seldom write or communicate, you are very special, dear, important to me. I keep you in my heart, soul, thoughts, and prayers. You have always been a wonderful friend. I miss you a lot. Thanks for being there for me, each and every time. You are a true angel: loving, caring for the sake of love and friendship. It is people like you who really make a BIG DIFFERENCE. I thank God for the gift of you and your friendship.

I have been very busy. I am a foster grandmother. I donate my services, work with children in the 3rd Grade. The Office of the Aging gives me a stipend to help with transportation, pay for my lunch at school, and to help with all the children. There are 18 children, boys and girls. They call me Grandma Maria. They call me at home. I call them too. I get along fine with the other monitors, teachers, etc.

My son Hector still lives with me, but I do not see much of my grandchildren, only when they get home. Jill is in engineering, Alicia is learning to be a music teacher and loves the viola.

I will have to finish for now. Write when you can. Keep in touch. I always love to hear from you! Again, have a most holy, blessed, joyful, wonderful, happy Valentine's Day and every other day as well. I wish and pray for you the best of everything. You have earned and deserved it.
