Brainsalad The frightening consequences of electroshock therapy I'm a middle aged government attorney living in a rural section of the northeast U.S. I'm unmarried and come from a very large family. When not preoccupied with family and my job, I read enormous amounts, toy with evolutionary theory, and scratch various parts on my body. This journal is filled with an enormous number of half-truths and outright lies, including this sentence. |

2003-09-05 6:20 PM Just as I thought An attorney I work with told me in all honesty that she felt I was too smart to be a lawyer.
This may explain my limited success thus far. I'm too smart for my job. Because of this oversmartness the legal theories I propose are so brilliant that the ordinary minds of other lawyers and judges can not follow them. Thus they rule against me not because I am wrong, but because they are not smart enough to understand how right I am. I have suspected that this might be the case for some time, and I am glad that my astute colleague was able to confirm it. I may be so smart that it would be impossible for me to be successful in any field. Unfortunately, I would probably be ruled ineligible for disability payments because those who decide such things would not be smart enough to understand the logic behind my application. *sigh* It can be such a burden to be me sometimes.
