Brainsalad The frightening consequences of electroshock therapy I'm a middle aged government attorney living in a rural section of the northeast U.S. I'm unmarried and come from a very large family. When not preoccupied with family and my job, I read enormous amounts, toy with evolutionary theory, and scratch various parts on my body. This journal is filled with an enormous number of half-truths and outright lies, including this sentence. |

2004-01-30 11:17 PM I can read. When I left for my trip I told myself that I would most definitely check two things in particular:
1. Door to apartment was to be closed 2. Lights in car turned off. Naturally, I was so nervous about the trip that I totally forgot to do both. Didn't find out about the lights in the car until today when I couldn't start it. Fortunately, I keep a little battery recharger in the car. Unfortunately, it needed recharging. The long and short of it was I had to appear at a deposition this morning via speakerphone and I had to have someone cover for me at a court appearance. But I had a very productive day at work. Didn't finish up until 7:00 p.m., but I was very satisfied with my output. This trip seems to have done an excellent job of making me put it all in perspective. Lately, I have been really tired of work and have not been as focused as I would have liked. One nice thing happened when we observed a court session in Utah. They had a lot of defendants go before a judge on what were essentially probation reviews and I made notes about what I thought the demeanor of each one. Later on we did comparisions, and I had picked up as much if not more than the rest of my colleagues. Asperger's syndrome means that a person is unable to pick up on regular social cues and at work and in my personal life a few people have openly suggested that this describes me. Clearly not true. I'm asocial and nervous, but I can read people. Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
