2004-03-24 7:06 PM Uncle's Obit. "Brainsalad's Uncle Frank died Thursday, March 18, 2004, at Regional Hospital. He was born December 16, 1932, son of Brainsalad's grandparents. He was schooled in his hometown and later joined the US Air Force. He then worked as a Life Insurance salesman in New York. While in Florida, he worked as a bookkeeper with the Fla. Police Dept. A passionate and gifted musician, Frank played keyboards and stringed instruments, playing bass for many other musicians, such as, Nat King Cole, Peggy Lee, Anita Bryant, Count Basie and his Orchestra, as well as many others. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. Survivors include his wife, one son, three daughters, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, his brother; two sisters. He was predeceased by his sister." He was my father's older brother. I only met the guy a couple times but my father talked about him a lot, and he seemed like the sort of person that would have been interesting to know. This is where the musical talent in the family came from: my father's mother sang opera, my grandfather played the clarinet, all three aunts were good pianists.
