Brainsalad The frightening consequences of electroshock therapy I'm a middle aged government attorney living in a rural section of the northeast U.S. I'm unmarried and come from a very large family. 2004-07-24 2:02 AM That's where that song came from A few years ago I was watching Craig Kilborn's Late Late Show when I saw Morrissey perform for the first time. He was doing this song about a gangster that I really liked. So the next day I went looking for the album. I found some Morrissey but I couldn't find anything matching those lyrics.
It turns out the reason I couldn't was because, although he must have been singing the song years ago, he didn't put it on an album until this year. The damned thing only came out in May. Today I bought "You are the Quarry" and I got to track 8 and there it was, that freckin song, "The First of the Gang to Die". It's like finally finding a spot that needed scratching for a couple of years. Although I like "First of the Gang to Die" the best of anything on the album so far, some of the lyrics from other songs are just amazing. Here's an excerpt from "Let Me Kiss You": Close your eyes and think of someone you physically admire and let me kiss you let me kiss you But then you open your eyes and you see someone that you physically despise but my heart is open my heart is open to you Good stuff.
