Brainsalad The frightening consequences of electroshock therapy I'm a middle aged government attorney living in a rural section of the northeast U.S. I'm unmarried and come from a very large family. When not preoccupied with family and my job, I read enormous amounts, toy with evolutionary theory, and scratch various parts on my body. This journal is filled with an enormous number of half-truths and outright lies, including this sentence. |

2004-09-09 4:30 AM Life without TV It's been about 6 months since the TV totally died. It only got one channel anyway, but I did watch it at least an hour every evening. I can't think of anything I really miss. Football and basketball games were nice, but the NFL season has already started up again and I could care less this year. I can follow politics and the news just as well over the internet.
So I'm missing a few crappy sitcoms and crime shows. I have about 60 real life crappy sitcoms and crime shows I have to deal with at work: every combination of drug use, domestic violence, people cheating, and kids going crazy. That's my job. Why would I want to watch it for entertainment? I think I'm reading quite a bit more, but I don't think I've rented any more videos. The apartment isn't any cleaner, but I've never been a neat person. I'm getting outside more frequently, as evidenced by the tan. Overall, I'd say it's been a good thing.
