2004-10-18 9:21 PM "Team America: World Police" Review I thought that The Last Picture Show, Peter Bogdonavich's 1971 masterpiece, was a better film than Team America: World Police. Set in a small town in 1951, "The Last Picture Show" was the film that signalled the end of the Westerns. With this film we went from a Mid-West full of Indians, Villains, and Gunfighting Sheriffs, to desolate lonely towns with rednecks, angst ridden teenagers, and dying businesses. Ben Johnson as Sam the Lion and Cloris Leachman as Ruth Popper put in especially wonderful performances.
So I'd say if they are both playing in the theaters, go see "The Last Picture Show" instead of "Team America: World Police". But that's just my opinion. Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
