The frightening consequences of electroshock therapy

I'm a middle aged government attorney living in a rural section of the northeast U.S. I'm unmarried and come from a very large family. When not preoccupied with family and my job, I read enormous amounts, toy with evolutionary theory, and scratch various parts on my body.

This journal is filled with an enormous number of half-truths and outright lies, including this sentence.

2005 and 2006

It has been a pretty good year for me.

Stuff that happened:

Was acquired by a cat.

Did a lot of hiking, and learned the names of a lot of trees and wildflowers.

Was involved with three different women over the course of the year. All of them very nice people who I learned a lot from.

Continued to improve my skills as a lawyer.

Visited Florida. Liked it.

Most memorable event: Due to the rules and regulations of the Comic Book Code of the America, the most memorable moment of the year may not be listed on this page. It was however, pretty damned good.

Favorites

Non-fiction book: "The Language Instinct" by Steven Pinker.

Fiction book: "The Baroque Cycle" by Neal Stephenson (although still working on the last book in the three book series).

Favorite movie of the year: "The Weather Man"

Favorite computer game: "City of Heroes"

Favorite new music: "Get Behind Me Satan" by the White Stripes.

Resolutions
I usually don't make these, but I'm turning 40, and there are a couple things I want to accomplish:

1) Lose 20lbs by my 40th birthday

2) Finish a rough draft of one of three non-fiction books I've had outlined in my head for over a decade.
