Thanks for your Christmas Card. Sorry this is so late. We had a good Christmas. Unfortunately, I nodded off at Midnite Mass, but it was beautiful when I was awake! One Christmas gift we got was a trip to the movie theatre. I saw "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe". I loved it! It was so well done! Thanks for the Mickey Dees gift card. I hope we get to use it on our trip down to DC for the March of Life later this month.

I thought you'd like to know, I was summoned for jury duty Dec 20. I thoroughly enjoyed the voir dire, sitting in the witness stand and answering questions from the defense lawyer and prosecutor. They even asked me about you, to see whether you'd shared opinions with me about our criminal justice system, since you work for the state (right?). I don't remember you complaining about it, but neither could I remember exactly what you do. Don't you work for the city in defense of poor people? Anyway, they excused me from jury duty I think mainly because I said I wasn't sure, as the case unfolded, if I would find a conflict between God's law and written law. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing!

It's snowing today, and I love to watch it come down! I begin an 8-day silent retreat today. With the snow it's analogous to falling into Narnia!
