2006-07-01 7:29 AM Two more hikes Did a couple waterfalls in the Columbia river gorge on Thursday. One of the waterfalls was over 500 feet tall, more than twice the height of anything on the east coast. Friday, I went with my sister to Mt. Hood, the highest peak in Oregon. Didn't go up the actual peak itself, went on a six mile walk up a much smaller peak nearby. About half way up the peak, while we were resting at a crystal clear mountain pond, I got a call from the office. It was sort of strange being in the middle of nowhere and getting a phone call.
