The frightening consequences of electroshock therapy

I'm a middle aged government attorney living in a rural section of the northeast U.S. I'm unmarried and come from a very large family. When not preoccupied with family and my job, I read enormous amounts, toy with evolutionary theory, and scratch various parts on my body.

This journal is filled with an enormous number of half-truths and outright lies, including this sentence.

Weekend update

Friday - Saw the movie "Freedom Writers" with Hillary Swank. My girlfriend's idea. I wasn't too enthusiatic on seeing it, so I showed up late at the theater. Then I couldn't find my girlfriend in the dark. Decent film. Nothing amazing. Slightly better quality than a made for TV movie of this sort might have been. It was about a young, ambitious new teacher (Swank) getting her first job in a very tough school district. It reminded me of a girlfriend from 2000, who got her first job working in the South Bronx. She would tell me horror stories. She was very much like the main character in this movie: very bright, very ambitious, and very dedicated. The students also reminded slightly of some of my clients, coming from broken families troubled with drug and gang violence. I was surprised at how many teenagers were in the theater with me, and how many of them cheered at the ending. Found my girlfriend after the movie, and she wasn't too upset with me.

Saturday - Went hiking with about a dozen other people. An eight mile trek along the tops of some cliffs. The views were spectacular. I ate lunch two feet away from a sheer drop off of several hundred feet. I had a wonderful view of of a broad river valley. Originally, this was planned as a winter hike, and it is winter, but with the temperature in the 60s, it wasn't the same sort of hike. 8 miles in the snow and heavy winds would have been a reasonably decent workout. With temperatures in the 60s, it was more of a leisurely stroll.

Sunday - I resigned up for World of Warcraft. They have an expansion coming, and I'm prepping my level 60 druid for it. I also made a hunter on a different server and joined a guild run by some old acquaintances.

This week is a busy one at work. Tomorrow I have two fact finding hearings, and at the moment I'm procrastinating from preping for one of them. I guess I'll get back to it. The temperature has dropped back down into the 20s and 30s, although it may warm up a bit by the weekend. I'd be surprised if we didn't our yearly supply of snow in the next few weeks though.
