Brainsalad The frightening consequences of electroshock therapy I'm a middle aged government attorney living in a rural section of the northeast U.S. I'm unmarried and come from a very large family. When not preoccupied with family and my job, I read enormous amounts, toy with evolutionary theory, and scratch various parts on my body. This journal is filled with an enormous number of half-truths and outright lies, including this sentence. |

2007-05-09 5:12 PM The Darwin Awards - Bird version A robin has built a nest on the staircase that leads to my apartment. From the outside of the staircase, this would seem to be a good spot - about eleven feet from the ground. Unfortunately, the nest is built on railing that goes around the staircase, and from the inside this is about a foot and a half above the ground - perfect cat height.
The nest is absolutely beautiful. It must have taken hours to construct. It is made of straw and has a perfectly round interior. This morning I discovered three turquoise eggs inside, each about 3/4 an inch long. If these eggs hatch, there is about a spits chance in hell that they will survive. Even if my cat or the dog from downstairs, don't get eggs or chicks at some point, if the birds see me anywhere near the nest (and it is impossible for me to avoid), they will abandon the nest. I can't move it either or they will abandon it too. *sigh* I guess I'll have to call a local nature conservancy place. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
