The frightening consequences of electroshock therapy

I'm a middle aged government attorney living in a rural section of the northeast U.S. I'm unmarried and come from a very large family. When not preoccupied with family and my job, I read enormous amounts, toy with evolutionary theory, and scratch various parts on my body.

This journal is filled with an enormous number of half-truths and outright lies, including this sentence.

World of mom and other stuff

One of the big changes in my life in the past year is with regards to my mother. Well, it's actually a much bigger change for her. She's headed for a nursing home.

My sister has been living with her for the past ten years, and Mom has slowly been going down hill while sister has had her life on hold.

In March, my sister had the first mental health breakdown she's had in over a decade. She stopped sleeping, started arguing with mom, and then one night all 5'1", now 250 pound plus of her decided to go for a midnight jog in the nude around the block.

So me and my other sister watched my mother for about two weeks. I got to watch her at night. I think the stress of what happened to my sister impacted her, and it was especially rough the first few days. She was up at night in a manic state, and she woke me up a few times ranting. She also had a couple accidents on the way to the bathroom, which I had the pleasure of helping her with.

After two weeks, my brothers came in and figured out how to get my mother admitted to the hospital. She's been there ever since, while they figure out where she should go permanently. She's had two falling accidents since she got there (one where she broke nose and the other where she had to have a head x-ray), but some assfuck administrator thinks she can survive outside a nursing home. We have an appeal put together. With 2 lawyers and a social worker in the family, we should be able to put this together.

My sister is living in a halfway house. She is doing better, but she cut all her hair off, and got three tattoos. IMRE (i think that's what they have on the cross), a toilet, and a booger. Still, I'm thinking it might be an opportunity to do something else with her life. Caring for Mom for two weeks was more than enough for me.

So the house I grew up is empty now. The old maids and permanent bachelors used to get together for birthdays and holidays, but that may not be happening again. Just another stage that most people's lives enter at some point.
