2002-08-14 4:38 PM That's "Mr. Adjunct Professor Polney" to you! Mood: Not as happy as I should be |
Yesterday, Widener University hired me to teach two sections of Comp 101 to their freshmen. This is cool because it is employment, but the pay ain't that good, it's a 20-minute commute (if the traffic ain't bad) and there are ZERO benefits - except the use of Widener's library.
I have an interview on the 20th at the Community College of Philadelphia for the same type of job. If I can teach two more sections, then I'll be making decent money, but teaching four friggin' classes won't be easy. Since I have no other jobs, my plan is to treat it like a regular 9-5 job - spend as much time in the office grading student papers and conducting conferences so that I'll have the evenings and weekends free for social life and writing. I'll keep you informed of my progress. As far as writing, I've been doing nothing for the past two days except filling out online applications for the Dept. of State, the Civil Service, and the Post Office. This bag of rags and weeds needs a job with benefits. THE LANGUAGE TWINS TEACH EACH OTHER. Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
