By the most fortunate of coincidences, I bumped into Kelly Link and her husband, Gavin, here in a Philadelphia Barnes and Noble on Friday night (9/27). She had just given a reading for the Philadelphia Fantastic Society.

The only reason I found out we were in the same building was that I saw the roommate of a woman I dated a few months ago. The roommate always seemed a pleasant sort of gal, so I asked what was going on and she said, "Kelly Link."

I already had a date lined up for that night (which ended inconclusively) so Kelly and I walked a few blocks to where her hosts had set up a dinner.

The next afternoon Kelly, Gavin, one of their friends, and I went to lunch and yapped for several hours about stuff in general.

I developed a crush on their friend who is a grad student at U of Penn. She is a voracious reader and quite stunningly intelligent. This too might end inconclusively since i think she has a boyfriend or is otherwise entangled.

I fine weekend of coincidences overall.
