I just read this cute little piece on the Onion http://www.theonion.com/opinion/index.php?issue=4129 and the whole thing resonated deep within my Spock-like intellect. When I think about the screwballs who've crossed my path in the last 34 years, I get a warm chill up and down my spine.

This article made me wonder (and not for the first time) if I'm one of those people who bring out the worst in women (and one or two gay men).

Very soon I have to bid on my next post, i.e. where I will go in summer 2006. I'm leaning to both extremes: I want to go to a severely dangerous area like Afghanistan or Saudi Arabia, or I want to go to Canada - specifically Toronto or Vancouver. The peacenik and the 4th Reich death camp commandant are at war in my soul again. Sigh.
