After a very busy weekend filled with memorable events, we hosted A.'s second birthday party this afternoon for a house full of wonderful friends and family. I will see about posting pics, but here are the hightlights:

1. Sister, bro-in-law, nephew, neice and Nana all made a surprise visit!!!!!! I cannot tell you, or them, how much that meant to me.

2. Lots of sports toys - golf, basketball, t-ball, toddler glove and ball. Watch out, dogs!

3. Elmo...Elmo cake, Dr. Elmo, Elmo shirts, Elmo balloon, Elmo cups and plates and napkins.

4. Great books! Even a farm book that has animals you velcro to the page from Aunt K and Cousin K.

5. A red wagon and Bob the Builder Legos!!!! We have yet to put together the wagon, but he loves Bob and the kitty.

6. A nice nap at 5:00 after everyone left.

All in all, a wonderful, wonderful day! Now he's crying in the other room....

A mother I know shared that she would hope that her children would have no reason to cry on their birthdays. It took her until they were about 14 to accomplish that. Obviously, us too!
