A bit of excitement for Janel and I as we adopted a dog from the County Animal Shelter. He is a 2 year old beagle mix and we have named him Gatsby. So far, he has been a very good boy, with the exception that he would like to be amorous with the ladies... a trip to the vet and a couple of snips should fix that little problem. He seems to know the "sit" command, and, so far, hasn't made any messes in the house... he slept through the night and was still sleeping when I got out of the shower this morning, only waking when I turned on the living room light. Still, he waited patiently for me to open his kennel cage and let him out. He seems to enjoy "squirrel hunting," as he perked right up when he saw the squirrels jumping through the courtyard of our apartment complex. He also likes everyone and whines if he cannot go say hello to whatever people or dogs he sees walking by.
