Update: Wonder Girl will be expressing her considerable school spirit in some other capacity this next academic year.
I have mixed feelings on this. On the one hand, there goes about $1200 I won't be spending on pom-poms, shoes, costumes, pom summer camp, special pom clinics at the local college. Sounds like college-fund money to me.
On the other hand, how dare anyone tell me that my beautiful, talented, brilliant, politically savvy, fearless Wonder Girl iis not good enough for something? Or try to tell her that???
The car ride home was quiet. I wasn't sure what to do. She's not the kind of kid who has never known failure, but still... I suggested a stop at the local market for a pint of Haagen Daz Coffee ice cream. Her reply? "I don't think that will make it better. Do you, Mom?
