...little bits that are floating around in my head.

1. Many apologies to you who were hoping to see a picture o' the pooch by now. I have not been home long enough to arrange this.

2. In that vein, I ate all three meals at my desk at church today. I have been doing that a lot lately. v.bad.

3. My feelings on the Supreme Court nominee are: meh. I had the same reaction to a candidate to an eccliastical post here recently: another white, middle-aged, straight guy? That's the best you could do? (Although I'm sure 'church guy' is a lovely-enough man, but honestly! How original!)

4. Yippee! It's raining!

5. I'm having a strange reaction to the aftermath of the burial and memorial process for D, who died on July 6. Her son (who has been here for a month), and grandson, (who has been here for two weeks) got on a plane and left for home today. I have had a conversation with the son or his sister (who lives locally) every day for the past five weeks. It was really strange not to talk to them today. It's like I didn't just lose D, I lost her kids, too. They are really cool people. It would help if they were dorks, but they're not. All I've got left of the family is the basket of flowers they left for me that are sitting on my desk. And those puppies are fading fast!
