The One Where WG Turns Fifteen

Tomorrow, gentle readers, is my baby's 15th birthday. In honor of her, a list of Fifteen Fabulous Things (in no way exhaustive, but rather representational):
1. You make your own jewelry, and it is beautiful.
2. You have never, ever complained about being tall. Even last night when we were shopping and all the pants were ankle length. You pull off 5'9" like a supermodel!
3. You eschew ridiculously heavy makeup. (You are in no hurry to look haggard at 15.)
4. Ditto body piercing, which I understand is all the rage at Pretentious High School By The Lake.
5. When it became apparent that St. Stoic was not ready to start a youth group, you went out and found another one to join! (You make Jeebus smile.)
6. You let me nag you about your room, but turn your back before you roll your eyes. (They're called mirrors, babe.)
7. You still let your dad 'bond' with you over Sci-Fi. It means a lot to him, the poor guy; how was he to know I didn't like it? We were kids, it was the early 80's--the good stuff hadn't been invented yet...
8. You just got the rocking-est report card ever. You know how much this means to us, given our family's recent experience with high school. But you did it for yourself.
9. You love indie music--stuff you learned about from your brother.
10. When Cute But Kinda Worthless let you down three days before the dance, you took Vertically Challenged Hilarious Friend and had a wonderful time. Despite his being 5'2", you wore your fabulous high heels.
11. When you couldn't find a head board you liked, you made one, tufted and covered with green silk. It, like it's creator, is a thing of beauty.
12 You can bring a room full of grown-ups to tears by the third line of your State-Second-Place-Award-Winning Forensics monologue.
13.You wear black and white houndstooth check Chuck Taylor high tops. With a skirt. (When you're not wearing the Flaming ones, that is!) I have never had your fashion confidence!
14. You sing with the church choir, even though it's not cool. You make it cool, by being there.
15. Because of you, "Little Shop of Horrors" rocks!
