Cheesehead in Paradise

I'm celebrating FatTuesday Polish style. Both the office administrator and I stopped off at local bakeries for paczki (pronounced PUNCH-ka, where the "U" sound is like the "u" in pudding) Yes, I know...it's not spelled even remotely like that. It's Polish. Go figure.

I rationalize it this way: If I'm going to re-assimilate into this culture after so many years of tofu and sprouts, what better way to do it than fried dough filled with jam and coated with powdered sugar?
