Today is my one-year Blogiversary! Yeah for me! If you were wondering how I came to the blogosphere, let me tell you the tale.

A little over a year ago I met our dear friend Reverendmother on another online forum. It turns out that she and I are one tiny little degree separated—it’s spooky, really. If I could tell you, the little hairs on your neck would stand on end. I knew nothing about blogging at that point. But I clicked the link for her blog and became hooked on reading.

I found out that I could have a Journalscape blog for free. I waffled for a while, then on April 11, 2005, I took the plunge. You can read about it here. Once I began, there was no looking back.

Soon there was a ring of us, the RevGalBlogPals, and T-shirts, and mugs, and messenger bags. The next thing I knew, there was a book. Me, a little farm girl from Indiana: I wrote some words and they’re in a book. Soon there will be another book. In May I will meet some of the RGBPs in person. I can’t wait.

But I feel as if I already ‘know’ many of you. And even those of you who I won’t meet in person this spring are already my friends. It is a privilege to share the joys and frustrations of ministry and faithful living with you. Along the way, I found others with whom I shared similar stories, a sister-by-another-mother, common alma maters, the love of a certain crème brulee, and mutual friends. We pray for one another, worry about each other’s children, partners and pets, cheer each other on as we attempt (and succeed) at living lives of integrity, authenticity, and grace. What a blessing!
