Conversation this morning:

Me: "Hey, OEH dear, can you take over laundry duty this morning while I finish my sermon? There are about three loads left."

Him: "Sure, I'll help you with laundry."

Me: "Well, I really had something else in mind."

Him: "Huh???"

Me: "I'm wondering if instead of being my laundry helper, you could just be in charge of the laundry."

Him: "What's the difference? Either way I end up doing laundry!"

Me: "No, if you are the laundry helper, then I check on the laundry all day long, ask you to carry stuff upstairs and you do it. If you are doing the laundry, then nobody asks you to do anything--you just make sure it gets done."

Him: "So you're telling me I can either do laundry or do laundry."

Sigh...twenty-four years later...same damn conversation.

I'll get over it until next time, I suppose.
