While walking through the local mall to get to the salon for my haircut, an earnest young woman sidled up to me while I was definitely doing my no-nonsense, I-have-somewhere-to-go stride. She came from the kiosk I was breezing by. As she matched my stride she asked me ever so sweetly: "Can I ask you a quick question?"

Without breaking stride, I replied to her, "I think you just did."

She stopped dead in her tracks. Am I really the only harried shopper who does this?

As soon as she was out of earshot I called Wondergirl to tell her I had pulled it off once again. She laughed hystericallly.

For about five minutes, she though I was Awesome!
