...is that only David Lynch could turn a perfectly enjoyable lesbian love mystery and fuck it up. I speak, of course, of Mulholland Drive. I don't really know why I speak of Mulholland Drive except that mention of it was made somewhere and I happened to notice without really noticing. I can't remember whether or not I wrote about seeing it earlier, but I did see it and the above pretty much sums up my thoughts on it. Even after having it explained to me, my opinion remains,
"Well, I *was* enjoying it..."

ANYWAY...movies. I got shanghai'd into seeing Harry Potter over the weekend. Typical family film emotional blackmail. With an all English cast, no less. The best part was the
'Star Wars: Episode 2' trailer...and viddying it while sitting between two extremely attractive girls. I doubt the poor bastards who sat in front of the Chinese all night had as good of a time. In any event, it looks like this Christian-somethin' guy isn't much of a better actor than Jake Lloyd, but the film looks good and I'm actually kinda jonesin' to see it. Hell, I'm even in the mood to watch Phantom Menace...assuming I can separate 'Rico from his damn DVD, savvy?
Also, we are looking forward to catch the Pitt/Reford action drama, "Spy Game." Lame name, lame tagline, but the story looks relatively interesting and hey, it's Brad Pitt.

So...what else? Well, as always, I suppose there's girls. I've made plans with a particularly attractive member of the opposite sex to engage in the sport of middle-aged beer drinkers. The only sport that's fit to surround a one-man law practice with in a small town. If you're unaware what the sport is...well, I suggest you tune into NBC at 8pm on Wednesday evenings. (If you're an Enterprise fan, tape it or watch the replay on Sunday.) Anyway, back to the girl; not that I know what to say about her, really. I seem to be having a difficult time with the second rule of the Tao of Steve (search imdb.com if you don't know what I'm talking about) and I rather doubt I intend to implement the third one, as that would distill this thing down to something less than I'd prefer. After all, intelligent, attractive women are far too few as it is...and women who like to go bowling are as rare as diamonds. :)

"It's the simple things in life you treasure."
-Tony Shalhoub, 'Galaxy Quest'

(Like, for example, girls with nice, round asses bending over a pool table...but that's a whole other tangent for another time...)
