Mood:
trying to relax

Ok,

So I just got back from the DMV and I've got yet another permit (my third) so I can [legally] practice my driving as soon as I get the number of a school that ain't gonna rob me blind.

I have no idea if I missed a single question on the test. The woman just took it from me and gave me back the print-out that is the permit. They photograph you beforehand, now. I haven't shaved in well over a week, my hair is put back, the picture is black & white; I look like a terrorist. I was tempted to take the building hostage in the name of the Crimson Jihad, but I was unarmed and the service was surprisingly quick and efficient. Fortunately, I don't think they're going to save this photo for my actual license...should I ever actually get that. I'd gone through half of the book over the past couple days and used what passes for common sense coupled with my hideous memory. It reminds me of how I did school work for most of my life. I've always been pretty good at taking tests if I knew the material, so I avoided homework whenever possible. Once I intentionally answered a few questions wrong because I didn't want to be accused of cheating (though it turns out I didn't need to worry about that). High test scores, generally passing classes. Any class I had to read a book for, I always read ahead because I liked to read unless the book was utter shit. In high school, I degenerated to the point where I barely bothered with the schoolwork. I slept in class because I was up all night for no good reason. Even then, I still passed a few classes. It took excessive tardiness for them to finally suspend me and even then, the normal count was five. I had eight or nine before anyone noticed.

Judge Lance Ito graduated from my high school, you know.

And tonight, spaghetti.
