Mood:
Tired

So, yesterday, I turned 25.

Of course, even when I'm tired and want to go to sleep, for some reason, I always feel the need to stay up late. I don't understand why, but it's the way it is. So, I didn't stay up as late as I have been lately, but it was still pretty late and getting to sleep was difficult. Considering the fact that my caffeine intake is extremely low these days, it doesn't make sense.

Anyway, the point of all that is that I fell asleep watching a tape of some television I'd taped earlier that night while I was out and I didn't wake up until around 4pm.

The plan was to hit Cirxa as early as possible so I could hit Knott's later that night 'cause it opens at 7pm. So I shower, dress, and gather my parents and we step to the restaurant a little after five. Etoufee for me, beef brisket on the left, soup and ribs on the right. Cornbread all 'round, kinda muffin/cake-style, like some restuarants do, but not all sugared up like the fast-food places do (not that I mind). All fucking awesome not really expensive at all if you actually have an income. I totally totally totally recommend this place if you like creole (and soul) food.

Also, they have crayons at the table and paper across the table. The eastern wall is covered with really well-done drawings (by adults, not kids) that appear to be done in crayon. Mr. Burns and Blinky appear, as do a few topless women, a jazz band, and a number of portraits. On the western wall are a number of paintings in an artistic style I don't know the name of and the place is just stylin' all 'round. The parking lot's small, but they got a patio so you can eat outside.

Let's plug:

CIRXA
3719 Sunset Blvd., Silver Lake
Silver Lake
323.663.1058

So, after that, 'Rik and Thea get the call and we hit Knotts, after crawling past the wreck at the 5/10/60 interchange. I don't think I can go into the Knott's Halloween experience in any useful or meaningful detail, but I will say I had a lot of fun. The mazes were cool ('cept for the spider one; that was mostly just uncomfortable :) ) and the refurbished log ride (werewolf-style) and mine ride (Army of Darkness-style) were pretty badass.

Anyway...now I'm tired. Maybe tomorrow the presents will arrive. :)
