2003-08-13 5:47 AM All right.... Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Tired Read/Post Comments (0) I'm overdue for an update, I suppose.
Let's see...it's been several hours since I got back from Two Dollar Tuesdays over at Sugar in Santa Monica and I've basically just been catching up on my online stuff. Those of you going to Burning Man, beware. I may arrive at your domiciles when you return and kill you in a fit of jealously. (Yes, even you, love.) I'm sorry, but it's overwhelming me at this point. I'm half-tempted to take all of you off my Friend's list until October just so I don't have to deal with it. In a more realistic manner, I may just be more careful about what I read and what I don't until I get around to actually living my life instead of just sitting here, existing. Anyway, as far as the club goes...it was good. The techno was great, the crowd was fairly decent, and the area was just pretty damn cool. I had to kind of throw off my usual club style of being inspired to dance by a particular song and just do it. I'm not going to go into any of the styles or anything because I can't really describe them, but suffice to say, it was good shit. The only downside was that I went by myself and because I have no idea how anyone just starts talking to someone they don't know at a club (the concept just doesn't fucking compute in my head), I was a bit bored when I wasn't taking in the scenery or getting my groove on. Short of trying to find a new group of friends and/or showing up stoned, I'm not sure how to rectify this issue. I ended up leaving an hour before close. Since I was already out there, I stopped by the ocean and said my hello's. Then I stopped by the Winchell's, but they didn't have any doughnut holes and technically weren't going to open until 2am, so I bailed. When I got back to the neighborhood, I went to my local Winchell's (which also had no doughnut holes) and ended up just grabbing a couple doughnuts. I'm not sure where the urge came from, but I indulged it. Fuck it, I say; I haven't had a doughnut in months. :) Anyway, that was tonight, more or less. Before I left, I watched Nip/Tuck and enjoyed the hell out of it, though I managed to miss Dead Like Me (though I'm sure I'll catch it later). In the afternoon, I took a trip out to the Glendale Library and managed to psyche myself into thinking I'd forgotten what street it was on, when I knew it all along, but I didn't feel too stupid. What was important was that I shelled out $3 for a replacement library card. I couldn't believe they still had me in the system after all these years; a video store would've purged my ass after less than twelve months. I guess that's the difference between government and corporate ways of doing shit. Anyway, I picked up Rules of Attraction, but I may have to take it back 'cause I think it's missing a page. I'll probably do that tomorrow instead of Thursday, since it'll be a good excuse to get outta the house and it isn't like being in Glendale three days in a row is necessarily a bad thing. Ok, the goddamned sun is starting to rise...time's up. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
