I'm very glad I did. I was afraid I'd be late, but I only arrived just before 8pm (it started at seven), but there were people who I don't think showed up until 10 or so and I was one of the few folks who brought a food item that was A) actually an entree, B) served multiple people, and C) was vegetarian so that anyone could dig in. Now, I'm not nearly egotistical enough to think that makes me The Shit, but I can say that I felt like I Did Well. It was by no means my best spaghetti (had to mix it up and put it in a pot so it could travel 40 minutes down the freeway), but people said good things about it and they didn't necessarily have to. Next time, I'll see if I can't do better. Anyway, I met some very interesting people, some of whom I'd noticed on PMM, but hadn't decided to e-mail for whatever reason. One couple I really felt like I hit it off with, though. We talked about dance clubs (past and present), cartoons, tattoos, relationships, and various things and it was probably the most natural conversation I had. Generally, I'm not very good at talking to people I don't know, but everything basically flowed and I apparently carry enough trinkets on me that I'm rarely at a loss for stories (until one arrives at the point where they've heard all my stories). So, yeah, there some really cool people there. :) I even exchanged numbers with the one couple on the hopes that we can all get together sometime and hit the clubs in Hollywood. The shindig was scheduled to go to midnight, but it broke up about a half-hour earlier, so I cruised on out of HB and eventually went on home. Definitely will be looking forward to the next one...
