2004-06-24 1:03 AM So Grandfather Die... Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (1) Technically, I have grandparents. One alive set and one dead set. I met my father's father twice. He later died. Never met any of the others. All live hundreds of miles away. When they die, I will be unaffected.
I can't imagine it being otherwise. Even if they lived in the same town as me, I can't imagine it being otherwise for the simple fact that grandparents, by their very definition, are old. Their death is the most inevitable thing a person is likely to experience, so it seems weird to me to watch (so many) people get all busted up over it. I just keept having to remind myself that my experience and outlook is completely different from the rest of the country. Sometimes, it's rather annoying being so separate from other humans.
