Ok, so I recently downloaded an Evanescence cover of Nirvana's Heart-Shaped Box. Done at some radio station somewhere, it's accoustic and it kicks ass. Also have a version of The Cure's Lovesong attributed to Jack Off Jill. All I can say about this is that, while good, this song has now been done to death and it needs to stop being covered. Like, on pain of death.

Sadly, I also downloaded some shit. Namely, Scissor Sisters version of Comfortably Numb. UGH. It's fucking disco (which seems to be their "thing")! *shudder* Someone deserves a beating with a wire coathanger for this Bee Gees-inspired horror. Also found Sweet Child o' Mine supposedly done by a group called "Most Precious Blood" (someone really named their band this?). The music is good (nice piano), but the singing...well, the singing isn't singing, it's screaming and it sounds like garbage. If I wanted to hear that sort of noise, I'd soothe myself to sleep listening to audio recordings of prison rape. Still, I won't delete it just yet. *shrug*

I don't even know what to think of U2 doing Paint It Black. Some parts of it are kinda neat, others are just weird. I'll probably keep it, though, just 'cause there's nothing really wrong with it. Meanwhile, REM doing Wicked Game is just creepy.

And finally, Wally Pleasant officially sucks.

All right, sleep...
